State Street is located in Madison, WI (which is also the capital). It is the county seat of Dane County. Madison is also home to the University of Wisconsin Badgers.

As of the 2000 census, Madison had a population of 208,054, making it the second largest city in Wisconsin. Counting the city’s immediate suburbs the area population exceeds 350,000. The city forms the core of the United States Census Bureau’s Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Dane County and neighboring Iowa and Columbia counties, had a 2000 census population of 501,774.

In 1996, Money magazine identified Madison as the best place to live in the United States. It has consistently ranked near the top of the best-places list in subsequent years, with the city’s low unemployment rate a major contributor. Madison has constantly been rated one of the top 10 best cities to live in, almost every year.
